A pension for service with the latter gomenment has been awarded to me but the Governor of Stong Kong having

made the statement, that

Harcourt reduced the pension 10 per

cent. I was astounded to hear this, and

I deny emphatically that it was

partly my

fault but was the

result of over 30 years

hard work, and

that at Hongkong was

particularly

servere, when I was in sole charge

of the mail work for many years, without assistance whatever.
